Testing the clouds

Well, I haven’t really started a real blog before! So basically I’ll introduce ourselves for those who are not familiar with us. AngelBear Customs kind of started by accident. Angie (Me) and my husband (Chris) had just closed our popular weekend hot dog stand due to changes in the economy affecting food costs, and foot traffic being down tremendously at the market where we were located. (That’s a whole other post in itself)

We always are in search of our next adventure. I have always loved and collected Care Bears. About 5 years ago, Chris made some cloud shelves for me to display my figures on. It was like a childhood dream come true! He even built a small rainbow projector so there would be a rainbow projected on the wall. I absolutely loved it! I sprayed the clouds with sealer, to make them easier to clean.

After several years, it was becoming increasingly harder to keep these polyfill clouds clean, so I decided to find some cute cloud shaped shelves on Amazon… but Chris being the builder and the dream maker, didn’t want me to have cloud shelves from a store. He wanted to make custom cloud shelves for me! So he got some clay and began hand sculpting little clouds that were just big enough to hold one 3” Care Bear poseable. (Or a couple smaller bears). He scanned his hand sculpted cloud shelf, and began 3D printing many of them for me. After posting them in several facebook groups, others wanted them and they became quite popular, so popular in fact he decided to make several different styles and types.

Then he painted the wall a couple of beautiful shades of blue and created a brand new Care-a-Lot Dream wall just for me! Every time I go to the second floor I get to see my childhood dream as a reality! Since then he has created many more clouds with different themes. Grumpy’s cloud, Grumpy’s Mailbox, and more allowing me to set many different themes on my walls like picnics, parties, and even brackets so the cloud car and rainbow roller can fly through the sky! He eve made a skate park (half-pipe) for Swift Heart Rabbit! Then I felt I was missing certain characters, such as No Heart, Beastly, etc. And they were next!
